Last year, as I was planning my holiday in Asia, I came across this Michael Kors wallet on a chain and I thought it would be the perfect small, lightweight bag to carry around with me while travelling. It was a bit of an impulse purchase, which is rare for me, but I saw it online and it was love at first sight. The actual name of the bag is the Jet Set Travel Saffiano Leather Smartphone Crossbody. There aren’t many reviews on this bag and I’ve had it for nearly a year now, so I thought I’d share my thoughts about it.
The one that I have is in cornflower blue with gold hardware. I can’t find this colour anywhere anymore, but I’ll link a few other options below. The dimensions of the bag are: 7″ x 5″ x 1.5″ or approximately 18cm x 13cm x 4cm. It’s made of textured saffiano leather which is very sturdy, durable and easy to wipe clean. The chain strap is adjustable and removable with a drop of 23″-25″ or 58cm-64cm. The flap has a snap button, so it’s easy to open and close.
On the inside, it has five card slots, a middle compartment for your phone and a zipped pocket which is great for cash. The middle compartment is big enough to fit my Samsung S6 with the case or an iPhone 6 Plus. There is also a slip pocket on the back of the bag, where I keep my travel card. My phone fits in that pocket as well, but I don’t like keep it there, as I don’t want to stretch it out. The other things I usually carry inside the bag are cards, keys, cash, some tissues, a lipbalm and sometimes a compact.
It retails for about £140, so if you’re in the market for a wallet on a chain, but you don’t want to splurge on a Chanel WOC, this is a great option. And if you like the style of this bag, but you’re worried that it might be too small for you, have a look at the Daniela Small Flap Front Cross Body Bag, which is the bigger version of mine. I personally love this little guy and I think it’s equally beautiful and functional. The only issue for me is that there’s no hope for my sunglasses to fit in it, but it’s a wallet on a chain after all, so that’s to be expected. I took it with me on a few travels and it’s still looking great with no marks or scratches. If you’re interested to see how it looks on me, it featured in an OOTD post and you’ll probably see it a new one soon.
I hope this review was helpful! Let me know if you have any questions about the bag and if you already own this or a different wallet on a chain, I’d love to know your thought about it!
