My skincare routine has changed a lot over the past few months and I’ve seen an improvement in the overall health of my skin, which I’m very happy about. I still have some skin concerns and problem areas, but I feel like I have found some really great products that I wanted to talk about. I published a post on my skincare routine about a year ago and I still use some of those products, but I have recently fallen in love with Murad so much that I’ve changed up my routine quite a bit!
Murad is a highly renowned skincare brand and I wanted to try their products for ages, so when I found out about their facials, I immediately booked one at the Murad Beauty Room in House of Fraser Oxford Street. The beauty room is very cosy and clean with lovely relaxing ambience. I have now had three facials there – the AHA exfoliating facial twice and the Vitamin C facial once – and I was so pleased with all three of them that I’m going back for another one soon. Murad offer a range of facials and I love that you don’t need to worry about choosing the right one for yourself, because your beauty therapist will assess your skin and recommend the most suitable treatment depending on your needs. I have met two different therapists and they were both very knowledgeable and gave me plenty of advice. The facials I had lasted approximately an hour and started off with a double cleanse and steam, followed by some extractions (yes, that’s painful, but bearable) before applying a treatment, mask, serum and moisturiser. There was also a shoulders, arms and hand massage making the experience extremely relaxing and a real treat. Most importantly, I have found these facials to be very effective. I usually have some redness following the treatment, but my face is bright and glowing when I wake up the next morning.
Needless to say, I purchased a few Murad products in the past couple of months. I now use the Essential-C Cleanser every day to wash away any make-up residue and impurities and the AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser twice a week to remove dead skin cells and to smooth the texture of the skin. I have combination skin which is prone to dehydration, so after cleansing I follow with the Hydro-Dynamic Quenching Essence which provides immediate hydration and leaves my skin soft and plump. The final product I use is the Essential-C Day Moisture SPF 30. I have to admit, I have been really bad with using sunscreen in the past and having a moisturiser with SPF means that I can’t skip that step anymore and my skin is protected from sun damage during the day (at least to some extend!).
This post is not sponsored by Murad; I have had a great experience with their facials and genuinely love the products I have tried so far, so I’m looking forward to trying out more!
