Products I’ve Used Up & Mini Reviews

Products I've Used Up

Today I decided to show you some products I’ve recently used up and tell you what I think of them and whether I would buy them again or not. I liked the majority of these products, because it is unlikely that I will finish a product unless I like it, but some of them were not as good as I hoped and I don’t think they’re worth repurchasing.

La Roche-Posay Serozinc – I really enjoyed using this toner and I mentioned it in My Current Skincare Routine. It is very soothing; has a small amount of sodium chloride and zinc sulfate in it which helps with break outs and it really kept my skin calm for the few months I was using it. It comes out as a fine mist and you can spray it directly onto your face, which is how I was using it. I love it and I’m definitely buying it again.

Bioderma Purifying Cleansing Micelle Solution – I used this as a cleanser in the morning and as a make-up remover in the evening before my face wash. I have combination skin and I found that it was a little bit drying for me. My skin was feeling quite tight after using it, so I personally prefer the one for sensitive skin. It is on the more expensive side and there are cheaper alternatives out there that work just as well, so unfortunately I wouldn’t repurchase it.

Caudalie Beauty Elixir – I travelled a lot with this in the past few months and I featured it in my Travel Beauty Heroes. It is a very fine mist and I used it before and after my makeup. It refreshes, hydrates and makes the skin more radiant. It is not a product you need in your daily routine, but it is a nice one to use as a special beauty treatment for your skin. I would probably repurchase it before travelling again.

Avène Redness-Relief Moisturizing Protecting Emulsion – This was a nice light moisturiser to use every day. It has SPF 20, so it’s good for outdoors. I have some general redness in my skin due to sensitivity, but unfortunately, I didn’t notice any improvement in my skin tone, so I wouldn’t buy it again.

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm –I used this before a special occasion or an evening out to give my skin extra radiance. It brightens the face immediately and sinks in really quickly. It is great to use under makeup and I noticed that it helped my makeup last longer. It is for all skin types, but if you have dry skin, you’ll probably need to use another moisturiser under it. I do see myself picking this up again.

Clarins Eye Revive Beauty Flash – I really enjoyed using this eye cream! It helps to smooth and brighten the under eye area. It is very hydrating, non-sticky and absorbs quickly. I used it every day and my concealer applied very nicely on top of it. I highly recommend this and I would buy it again.

Codage Radiance & Energie Serum – This was sent to me as a gift with purchase and was a small 7ml sample size which lasted a couple of weeks. It is targeted at tired dull skin and claims to brighten the complexion and combat the signs of ageing and fatigue. I used it at night and my skin was feeling soft and hydrated in the morning and I liked the scent and consistency, but I didn’t see any other benefits, so I am hesitant to buy the full size.

Phytovolume Shampoo – I was very excited about trying this shampoo, as it is enriched with natural botanical extracts and claims to boost volume and shine. However, I didn’t see any improvement in the volume or texture of my hair and I didn’t like the consistency of this shampoo. It was very liquid and runny and this bottle of 200ml didn’t last a long time for me. I expected more from such a pricey shampoo and unfortunately I won’t be repurchasing.

Batiste Dry Shampoo – I have tried so many dry shampoos and this is the only one that works for me and actually leaves my hair refreshed. It comes out as white powder, but that disappears quickly when I rub it in with my fingers. I go through these quite quickly and I need to get a new one. I want to try the one for brunettes with a hint of colour, so if you’ve used it, let me know what you think if it.

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Lip Balm – I loved using this lip balm and I did a mini review on it in my Travel Beauty Heroes. I haven’t re-purchased it yet, because I like trying out different lip balms, but I would definitely go back to it.

Diorshow Mascara – This is by far the best mascara I have used. I love the big brush; it separates the lashes very well and gives a good amount of volume without any clumps. The formula is on the dry side, but it lasts all day and doesn’t flake or smudge. You have to keep in mind that it contains fragrance. I personally loved the smell of roses and I didn’t experience any irritation, but if you have sensitive eyes, you might not like it. I would definitely recommend it and repurchase it.

Diorshow Maximizer Lash Plumping Serum – I loved using this eyelash serum under my mascara. It made such a difference to my eyelashes! Not so much in terms of volume, but in terms of length. I used only one coat of this and it instantly made my lashes look longer. It is expensive, but mine lasted for about six months without getting dry, so I would say that it is worth the price and I would buy it again.

Lancôme La Vie Est Belle Eau De Parfum – I love this perfume and I have received so many compliments when wearing it! It is quite strong, sweet and powdery, very distinctive and lasts all day. The top notes in it are pear and black current; the heart notes are orange blossom, jasmine and iris; and the base notes are patchouli, tonka bean, vanilla, and praline. This was a gift and it’s going on my wish list again!

Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sunset in Salina Eau De Toilette – This was another gift and I believe it was a limited edition that came out last summer, but is still available in some stores. It is a beautiful fresh, floral fragrance, however it didn’t last very long on my skin. The top notes are vine leaves and violet leaves; the heart notes are yellow freesia, orange blossom and jasmine; and the base notes are amber, cedar and white musk. I did enjoy using it, but I probably wouldn’t buy it myself.

Hopefully you found some useful reviews here and let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and what you think of them!

I actually finished a lot more products recently, but I forgot to keep the packaging, so this post could have been twice as long! 🙂 I don’t think my boyfriend understands either. 🙂
