Red seems to be one of the SS16 colours and one that I typically steer clear of. But this season, I decided to step out of my comfort zone (which consists of black, grey and nude) and add a bit of colour to my wardrobe.
Last weekend I wore this super soft red knit sweater from Zara. It’s a really good basic and I like the details on the sleeves. I paired it with some classic blue skinny jeans. When I am not sure what to wear on my bottom half, I just put a pair of skinny jeans on. I feel comfortable in them and they are an easy option for me. That day was still a bit chilly, so I decided to throw on my old beloved faux fur gilet, which is one of my favourite transitional pieces. I love how it adds a touch of glam and a bit of extra warmth at the same time.
For accessories I picked a pair of navy ankle boots, also an old favourite of mine, and a small crossbody bag (more of a wallet on a chain) in a really pretty cornflower blue colour. This Michael Kors bag is a relatively new addition to my collection, but I have already worn it loads. It fits only the bare minimum, but I find that it works well for many occasions. To complete the outfit, I went for a pair of oversized sunglasses and some dainty gold-tone jewellery.
