I don’t know where my love for red has come from, but it has been my favourite colour this summer and will definitely be in my wardrobe for the coming season. Bright colours used to scare me, but in recent months I’ve been a little more inclined to play with colour and I’ve realised that red can be a great addition to a neutral wardrobe like mine.
One of my absolute favourite red pieces has been this amazing ruffle top which I picked up from online retailer Finery. I have already worn this top loads and it looks great with everything – from denim skirts to white trousers to simple blue jeans. When I’m feeling brave, my favourite way to style it is with these Zara jeans with red floral embroidery. I know this might seem like a lot of red to some of you, but I actually really like it.
Accessory-wise, I would stick to black with this outfit and keep my jewellery very minimal. That being said I couldn’t resist wearing these super cute and not-so-simple strappy sandals, also from Zara. How pretty are the pearl details on the straps? Plus, they might not look like it, but these sandals are actually quite comfortable and easy to walk in, so they deserve a massive thumbs-up.
What has been your favourite colour this summer?
