I love trying out new lip products (don’t we all?). I can’t live without a good lip balm and I always carry with me a few pinky nude options in different formulas (not that I need them all at the same time, but you never know). I have a few vibrant colours and some dark evening tones in my lipstick collection, but I just don’t reach for them that often. I know that pinky/nude lips work for me and I tend to stick to that look. Below I have listed my most worn lip products that I have kept on rotation all summer long. Of course, there is a lip balm and a few very neutral shades, all very wearable for anytime and any occasion and great to have in your makeup bag!
Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Lip Care has been my favourite lip balm over the past few months. It keeps my lips soft and hydrated for a long time, it’s not greasy or sticky and has an SPF 20 which is great in the summer.
Mac Angel Lipstick is a gorgeous soft pink in frost finish. It is a very wearable every day pink that suits different skin tones, but I find it most flattering on light to light-medium skin tones. I love it on its own for daytime wear and with a lip gloss on top for an evening look. It is very pigmented, but it rubs off quite easily when you eat or drink, so you have to reapply it during the day.
YSL Rouge Volupté Shine 8 Pink in Confidence is my favourite lipstick at the moment. It is a beautiful sheer pink, the perfect “my lips but better” colour, and you can layer it to get more intense colour and shine. It is very glossy, moisturising and comfortable on the lips with smooth creamy texture, truly a dream to apply. It has a sweet fruity fragrance, which I love, and comes in the most gorgeous packaging.
Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfector 5 Candy Shimmer is essentially a tinted lip balm and I wear it more than any other lip product that I own. It’s easy to apply and it leaves my lips soft, moisturised and shiny with a very sheer colour. I usually wear it on its own, but it also looks amazing on top of MAC Angel. This was one of my Top 5 Summer Beauty Essentials and I’m definitely getting it in more shades for autumn.
Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss 15 Sensible is a warm pink with a semi-opaque coverage and a beautiful shiny finish. The colour is a bit more intense than the Clarins lip balm and the formula is a bit more long-wearing, but you need more time and precision to apply the product evenly.
I hope you liked my favourites and let me know what have been your most worn lip products this summer!
