I’ve recently treated myself to some new skincare products that I’d been wanting to try for some time. These are all very new to my routine and I haven’t had a chance to try them thoroughly yet, but I’ve been really enjoying using them, so I’ve decided to share my first impressions.
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser – This is the first Liz Earle product I’ve ever tried and I’m really impressed with it. It’s very effective at removing make up and cleansing the skin, but very gentle at the same time. The essentials oils are soothing for the skin and the scent is very relaxing. I love the creamy texture and how soft and smooth it makes my skin. I’ve always struggled to find a cleanser that doesn’t leave my skin feeling tight and dry and I’m so happy that I have finally found one! I’m now looking forward to trying more Liz Earle products.
First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads – I was very excited to try these radiance pads, as I’ve used glycolic acid products before and I’ve seen some improvement in the texture of my skin as a result. These treatment pads are alcohol-free and claim to exfoliate, tone and brighten the skin. I use them after I double-cleanse every evening to gently exfoliate my skin. After a week of regular use, they haven’t caused any irritation or dryness and I like how they leave my skin feeling clean and refreshed. I haven’t seen a lot of improvement in the texture of my skin yet, but I can see the brightening effect already. I’ll keep using them and I can do a more in-depth review in a couple of months after I’ve tried them properly.
Origins Balanced Diet Moisture Lotion – This is a very lightweight oil-free liquid moisturiser which claims to soften and hydrate any dry areas without weighing down the T-zone. I have combination skin and I thought that this would be perfect, but for some reason I don’t find it hydrating enough for me. I’ve just finished using a sample of the Origins GinZing moisturiser and I prefer that, as it feels more nourishing and gives my skin a bit of glow, which I love. As we’re approaching winter, I might need to switch to a heavier moisturiser, but I would give the Balanced Diet another go in the summer months.
Nuxe Ultra-Nourishing Lip Balm – I’ve tried a lot of lip balms (from drugstore to high-end ones) and rarely repurchase any, as I’m always on the lookout for a better one. This is by far the best lip balm I’ve ever used; it’s very hydrating but non-greasy and the rich matte texture makes it the perfect base for lipstick. It’s a pricey lip balm, but you get 15g in the pot and you only need the tiniest amount on your lips, so I know that mine will last me for a very long time. It can also be used on dry areas on the face, so it’s a really great product to have in your make up bag.
Nuxe Hand and Nail Cream – This is another lovely product from Nuxe. It’s a light silky cream that absorbs quickly and instantly softens my hands and cuticles. It contains mostly natural ingredients and smells divine, so if you’re looking for a high quality hand cream, I’d definitely recommend this. I bought it with the lip balm as part of a gift set, which was great value for money and you can find it in my Best Beauty Gift Sets for Christmas 2016.
Let me know if you’ve tried any of these products and you think of them, I’d love to know your thoughts!
